What is Hunting for Hull?
The Hunting for Hull Challenge is a new service for companies and organisations in the city, aimed at improving individuals team working skills in an entertaining and informative way.
Individuals work in small teams to complete a themed trail around parts of the city centre and Old Town. They complete the trail by answering clues and completing various tasks such as finding objects and taking photographs. In doing so, participants will be employing a number of skills such as time management, coordination and communication with team members, lateral thinking and decision making.

The trail and feedback session afterwards will be fun and informative as each theme is developed further by experts brought in by PFH Productions. In this way, participants’ perceptions about the city are also challenged and changed.
Following the hunt a buffet lunch is served.
Why send an employee on a Hunting for Hull Challenge?
1.Working practices inside departments and between departments can sometimes become routine and undynamic. Requiring individuals to work together closely in a novel and challenging environment acts as a catalyst to established practices and helps refresh and reinvigour working relationships.
2.All businesses face challenges and moments when the unexpected happens. By taking the employee out of their everyday comfort zones, the Hunting for Hull Challenge can be used to simulate these moments of crisis or extreme challenge in an organisation.
3.The Hunting for Hull challenge can also be used as a motivational tool, rewarding employees for their contributions to their organisations and generating goodwill towards the company.
4.The Hunting for Hull challenge is also an educational process, in particular challenging perceptions about the city. Following the Challenge, employees will look at the city in a completely different light. This can have positive effects on staff retention and motivation.

What options are available?
Three separate challenges have initially been developed:
Introduction to Hull – This hunt is ideal for those people who are new to the city and want to know a little more about Hull's people, places and history.
Introduction to Hull (Non Native English Speakers) – This hunt is ideal for those people who are new to the city and whose mother tongue is not English. This will provide participants with an entertaining first step in understanding both the present day city and its historic past.
Maritime Hull – Hull developed as a maritime trading town and can claim to be at the centre of the world’ first world wide web, the sea. This hunt uncovers the city’s past and present as a maritime city, revealing both surprises and successes.
Royal Hull – Far from being away from the eyes of the nation’s monarchs, Hull has been central to the plans and aspirations of kings and queens for the last 700 years. In this hunt, we find out how and why monarchs have wanted to get their hands on Hull and why it really is the King’s Town upon Hull!
Pioneering Hull – Ever since its merchants ventured further north than any other port in the middle ages, Hull has been at the cutting edge of a vast number of developments. This hunt gives reasons why the city really can call itself ‘The Pioneering City’.
Commercial Hull – This hunt explores some of Hull's best known companies, both in the present and the past.

“The trail was interesting and informative, but more importantly it was fun and helped our teamworking skills.”
Nick Pontone, Hull Business Forum
We all enjoyed ourselves, while at the same time I think a lot of us learnt new things about Hull that we hadn't been aware of before. I also think that it was extremely useful from the team-building side of things.
